Touch-A-Truck
Raising money for a great local cause while having family fun in the meantime!
About the Event
Touch-A-Truck is an annual charity event sponsored by Skips Wastewater Services to benefit a local charity. Recently, all event proceeds are donated to Hockanum Valley Community Council (HVCC) located in Vernon, CT.
Touch a truck is a free event to attend, but any donation is greatly appreciated. Your money will go towards missions to make our community a better place for all!
HVCC’s Missions:
- Assess on a continuing basis the human service needs of the community
- Assist and support the development, implementation, coordination and operation of necessary new human service programs
- Coordinate and improve services with other agencies in the area
- Promote desirable changes in social policies consistent with the needs of our client population

Despite the rainy weather, our 2022 Touch-a-Truck event was a great success! We were able to come together and collect the largest event donation to date – just over $10,000 for HVCC! We cannot express how thankful we are to be fortunate enough to assist HVCC in this capacity.

At touch-a-truck, local businesses bring equipment from tractors to construction machinery to dump trucks to Skips Wastewater Services at 21 Courtney Dr, Ellington, CT. Families and children are invited to come see this equipment up close, and even sit in the drivers seat. In addition to seeing countless times of vehicles, Skips has other activities to enjoy as well.
Some of the activities you can expect at Touch a Truck:
- Face painting
- Large sand box with toy trucks
- Arts & crafts
- Basketball court
- Food trucks / ice cream trucks
- Farm Animals
