About this Process
→ Inspections are reserved in 2 hour time slots (8am – 10am, 10am – 12pm, 12pm – 2pm, and 2pm – 4pm).
→ The tank will be located and pumped out, and the condition of the tank is assessed.
→ The inspector feeds a fiber-optic camera through the tank’s outlet pipe until the distribution box is reached. Conditions of the pipes and liquid levels are examined.
→ The leaching fields are examined for saturation levels.
→ The inspector will present important findings to the customer.
→ A detailed report is completed and returned to the customer in 24 hours or less. This report includes any relevant findings, diagrams, and recommendations.
Septic Inspection Booking
** Strongly Suggest Septic Pumping with Septic Inspection**
Pumping the tank at the time of an inspection ensures the inspector can get a full view of the condition of the tank.
F.A.Q.
Below are commonly asked questions regarding septic inspections and real estate transactions. If your question is not listed below, please call our main office at (860) 875-2332.
When should I expect to receive my report?
Inspection reports are returned in 24 hours (oftentimes sooner!).
Do you use a camera to inspect the system?
Yes. At Skips, we use top-of-the-line fiber-optic cameras to inspect the components of the tank. Images from the inside of your system will be included in the report.
I'm buying my first home with a septic system. What can I expect?
First time with septic? No worries! Septic systems are quite easy to maintain. At the end of every septic inspection, the inspector will give an overview of how the system works, any issues found with the system at hand, and how to keep it properly functioning.
I need a repair after my inspection... now what?
If the inspector recommends a repair to the system, give our office a call to receive a quote if not given on site. Small repairs can often be completed a few days following the inspection.
